Description:

Polyglycolic Acid (PGA) sutures undergo absorption through a simple hydrolytic mechanism, ensuring a predictable and controlled process. The PGA suture exhibits a retention of approximately 75% of its initial tensile strength after 2 weeks, 50% after 3 weeks, and 25% after 4 weeks. Complete absorption is achieved within a period of 60 to 90 days. Notably, Polyglycolic Suture is inert, leading to a relatively low tissue reaction.

Applications:

  • General Surgery
  • Gynecological Procedures
  • Soft Tissue Approximation
  • Ophthalmic Procedures

Properties:

  • Good Flexibility: PGA sutures offer flexibility for ease of use.
  • Reliable Knot Security: Ensures secure and stable knots during surgical procedures.
  • Smooth Tissue Passage: The suture’s smooth passage through tissue minimizes trauma.
  • High Tensile Strength: Retains strength for effective tissue approximation.
